Mile Marker 3 – How do I grow?
Moses’ Law has the right but not the might. (7:1-13)
Sin’s Law has the might but not the right (7:14-25)
Spirit’s Law has the might and the right. (8:1-2)
How does the Spirit work in us to help us grow?
Set your mind on what the Spirit desires. (8:5-8,11)
The Spirit reminds us we are children of God. (8:15-16)
The Spirit helps us when we are in a place of weakness. (8:26-27)
Four Promises:
All things will work together for the good. (8:28)
If God is for us, who can be against us. (8:31)
We are more than conquerors through him who loved us. (8:37)
Nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God. (8:39)
Going Deeper:
Read Romans 8:5-8 and 11 out loud. Can you list some things that the Spirit desires for us?
Read Romans 8:26-27 out loud. Have you ever been in such a desperate place where your prayers where more groans than actual words? What does Paul say the Spirit does with these groans?
Read the four promises above out loud. Which one means the most to you right now? Why?
