The Cafe Team provides a welcoming and comfortable area for members and visitors to enjoy a beverage, snack and fellowship with family and friends. Serving the Lord by distributing hot coffee, specialized hot drinks and pastries to our numerous customers.
Days: Sundays
Times: 1 hr 15 min. All service times available.

Our primary focus is to minister to and support members who are grieving the loss of their loved one. This ministry provides a meal to the family following the funeral. You will be notified when a need arises.

Photographers
Stories are better with pictures! Pictures are better when professionals take them!
Days: Sunday Services and Special Westside events. Times and hours will vary.
Photo Organization & Tagging
Westside’s photo database continues to grow. A detail-oriented organizer would help to tag and organize the database.
Days: Can be done on your own time in your own space.

Come join a team that supports our ministry teams with their events. Those on this team have a heart to create a warm welcoming space that engage people in their next spiritual step. Rally together to welcome, serve and execute experiences that are catalytic launch pads for people.

Facilities Volunteer Team/Special Projects
The Facilities volunteer team has the privilege of being a part of every ministry. It takes a lot of behind the scenes work to get our facility ready for weekend services and the many events held here. Volunteers who have a talent in plumbing, electrical, painting, and general handyman skills are needed. We also welcome those that have a heart to prepare a space for worship and growth by creating clean and welcoming spaces.

Small Group Leader
As a small group leader, you invest in the lives of a few to encourage authentic faith. You win when kids have meaningful interactions during group that deepen their faith in Jesus and influence their relationships with others. All materials provided. Infants – high school available.
Days: Sundays
Times: 15 minutes prior to service times and through service (about 1 hour and 15 minutes).
Substitute of Small Group Leader
As a sub for a small group leader you help by filling the gap when regular leaders cannot make it. You get the opportunity to invest in the lives of a few to encourage authentic faith through meaningful conversations. All materials provided. Infants – high school available.
Days: Sundays
Times: 15 minutes prior to service times and through service (about 1 hour and 15 minutes).
Family Welcome and Check-In
In this role you will help to welcome new families and assist families with check in needs. A brief training and materials provided.
Days: Sundays
Times: 30 minutes prior to service times
Prep/Pull Team
This team serves the ministry by preparing and organizing resources for Sunday services. Childcare is available on Thursday mornings with registration.
Days: Tuesday and Wednesday on a weekly basis

Special Needs Buddy
Westside Family Church Buddies program is designed to pair children who need extra support during Kids Ministry services with a buddy who provides one-on-one leadership and attention. The Buddies program helps every child and family feel cared for. Sometimes a buddy will help redirect a child during large group or small group time. Other times a buddy might help a child who is overstimulated by taking them to a quieter place. Sometimes a buddy is a friend to a child who could use a little extra attention and care.

Greeter
A smile, a word, and a touch can go a long way in creating a wow first impression for our guests. Come join our team and have the privilege of preparing people’s hearts for worship.
Parking
Parking Lot Attendants have the privilege of providing an efficient and organized plan to safely usher our guests in and out of the parking lot, providing a wow first and last impression of their experience at Westside Lenexa.
Usher
Ushers have the privilege of welcoming and seating guests and members of Westside and helping them feel comfortable and at home.

IT Support Tech
If you are a techie and enjoy helping people, then you might be interested in serving as a Westside Volunteer IT Support Tech. Wrap your IT skill around Westside’s day-to-day IT hardware and software working directly with staff at the WFC campuses to solve technical problems or escalate cases as they arise. We also have opportunities working with Microsoft 365/Entra, Cisco Meraki networking, Apple Management and more with flexible scheduling.

A2 Leaders
A2 Leaders prepare for and lead a group at least every other week. They provide a comfortable and safe environment where group members connect with each other, learn biblical truths together, share personal struggles with each other, and pray for each other.
Leaders would be committed to leading their Lifegroups weekly as well as provide support through prayer.
Prayer Partners
A Prayer Partner is someone who is willing to spend an extra 15 minutes at the end of a service to listen to those who need an ear and/or pray with those who need lifted before the Father. Our goal is to take every prayer request/situation and turn it into a next step in their spiritual journey.
Women's Event Team
This team is to help with women’s events throughout the year. Areas of service are greeting, hospitality/food, décor and praying for these events.
New Guest Letter Writing
This team has the privilege of welcoming new guests to Westside through a personal handwritten note.
General Project Support
It takes a small army to complete the tasks associated with running a large church with multiple campuses! There are places to get plugged in for a morning or afternoon during the week for reception help or for “on call” special event support. We always need help with mailings or special projects like organizing storage areas or filing previous years’ reports. If you have a heart to serve but a schedule too crazy for weekly commitments, let us know! We will let you know of ad hoc opportunities that you can pick and choose as our schedule sees fit.

Online Ministry
Beyond the brick-and-mortar buildings, we gather virtually. Church online reaches beyond the physical space to create digital connections that build relationships and community. Welcome to "phygital" where people through technology can meet anywhere anytime. Serve in your gifting around your schedule.

Community Leaders
Create discussions and an atmosphere for students to love Jesus, become like Jesus and share Jesus by serving weekly in a group.

Support Crew
Our preparation during the week helps make the weekend service successful. If you have a detailed eye and love to help behind the scenes, we’d love to have you. Anyone from computer geek to manual laborer is welcomed.
Days: Monday-Thursday, during normal working hours
Times: 3-4 hours per week
Production Team Member
This person is responsible for running all lights, sound and video for services and events. There are a lot of great places to get plugged in to this amazing ‘behind the scenes’ team. Many of these positions require no prior experience and you will be taught all you need to know. If you are looking to serve but don’t know where to get involved, we may have just the place for you.
Days: Sunday mornings

Pre-Production Team Member
This person is responsible for capturing video on Sunday and throughout the week at events, not just at the building. If you are artsy, creative and techy… or any combination this might be just the role for you. If capturing video isn’t your thing, we’re also looking for great video editors for all sorts of projects.
Days: Sunday morning or evening

Set Design Crew
If you have experience using a hammer & nails, then your set design skills are ready to be utilized for our worship experience every weekend. We want you to use your creativity, resourcefulness, and craftsmanship to help create this mood.
Days: Planning meetings as scheduled, typically every 4-8 weeks
Times: 4-6 hours per build
Backstage Crew
At every service there is a lot of moving parts that happen on and off the stage. Be a part of this ever-expanding team. If you are available to work behind the scenes on Sundays, this is the perfect spot for you.
Musician / Vocalist
The Worship team serves the church by leading people through song in spirit and truth. If you are gifted vocally or instrumentally and feel the desire to serve the church with your gifts, we are looking for you.
