The Quaker author Richard Foster writes, βPower can destroy or create. The power that destroys demands ascendency; it demands total control. It destroys relationships; it destroys trust; it destroys dialogue; it destroys integrity. And this is true whether we look through the macrocosm of human history or the microcosm of our own personal histories.β The Disciplined Life - Reflections on Money, Sex, & Power, pg. 176
