After Jesus had gone indoors, his disciples asked him privately, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?” He replied, “This kind can come out only by prayer.”

Mark 9:28-29

 

The Disciples’ Two Reactions: 

  1. Doh! We Forgot To Pray Didn’t We? 

    • They were trying to engage in the supernatural with only the natural. 

    • “I asked your disciples to drive out the spirit, but they could not.” (Mark 9:18)

    • We Don’t Move Without Prayer, except for when we do 

  2. Wait! When Did We See Jesus Praying? 

    • They didn’t but clearly He was 

    • Jesus Never Moved Without Prayer, even while on the move 

 

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.

Ephesians 6:18

 

And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.

Romans 8:27

 

Pray Continually,... (1 Thessalonians 5:17) 

 

Jesus prayed His whole way through the gospels: 

  • With Zacchaeus in Jericho (Luke 19:1-9) 

  • With the Samaritan Woman (John 4) 

  • At the wedding in Cana (John 2:1-12) 

  • With the women caught in adultery (John 8:1-11) 

  • Boating to the demon possessed man (Mark 4:35-5:20) 

 

Prayer Killer: Compartmentalization

  • There’s only certain ways I pray  

 

We don’t move without prayer, even while on the move.
