PRAYER KILLER: Self -Absorption
Contending is a struggle
Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured.”
Colossians 4:12
“Wrestling” - Greek: ἀγωνίζομαι (agōnizomai): compete, fight, struggle, with intensity and effort
Contending is exhausting
May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.
2 Thessalonians 3:5
“Perseverance” - Greek: ὑπομονή (hypomonē), endurance, steadfast, patience
It’s Jesus’ perseverance, not your own
Contending is a contact sport
“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

“Prayed” - δέομαι (deomai): plead, ask, beg, implore
PRAYER HACKS:

COMMUNION:
Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them. Such a high priest truly meets our need—one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself. (Hebrews 22:26-27)
