Our Strategy | Randy Frazee | I 💙 My Church

Going Deeper

  1. In Acts 2:42-47 we are told the first church “devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Why do you think they focused on these four?

  2. In Acts 2:42-47 the first church never devoted themselves to evangelism and yet people were coming to faith in Jesus every day in Jerusalem. Can you explain how this happened?

  3. Do you see any benefit in the church not having physical building for the first 350 years?

  4. Talk about your experience of being in such a community of believers. If you haven’t experienced it yet, what excites you about moving in this direction? What scares you?

Teaching Notes

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
