“Do not let your hearts be troubled.” (John 14:1a)
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me.” (John 14:1)
“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
Application
1. Jesus is the way because we all get lost.
There is a way that appears right, but in the end, it leads to death. (Proverbs 14:12)
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30
2. Jesus is the truth because we all believe lies.
You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you. (Isaiah 26:3)
Take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:5)
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.
Philippians 4:8
3. Jesus is the life because we are all dying.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
1 Peter 1:3
Peace is not found in the absence of problems.
Peace is found in the presence of Jesus.
