KEY QUESTION: Why is it important to be loyal and committed to God and others?

Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful. 

I Corinthians 4:2


The foundation for our faithfulness is God’s character.

Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. BELIEVE, PG. 453; Psalm 36:5

אמונ (emunah) lmeans “firmness” and carries the idea of being “trustworthy”

God can be trusted because he is ABLE (competency) to do what he says he will do, and he DELIVERS (character) on what he says he will do.

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23


The motivation for faithfulness is gratitude.


KEY VERSE: Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. BELIEVE, PG. 451; Proverbs 3:3-4

A vow is a word spoken in a moment, but faithfulness is a commitment fulfilled over a lifetime.

KEY IDEA: “I have established a good name with God and others based on my loyalty to those relationships.”


The power for faithfulness is the Holy Spirit.

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Galatians 5:22-23


Faithfulness yields a reward in this life and the life to come.

For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

Key Question: What is God’s call on my life?  


Key Verse:  The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters. (Psalm 24:1-2) 

Key Idea: “I believe everything I am or own belongs to God.”   

God doesn’t need what we have, so our giving must be for our sake. (Ps. 50) 


God is not asking us to accomplish great things but to be faithful to invest what he has given us for him. (Matthew 25:14-15) 

God may not give us more because we have not been faithful with what we have. (Matthew 25:16-23) 


So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. (2 Corinthians 5:9-10)
