Ephesians 2:8-9
1. From the above verse let's discuss definition of terms. To start, what does saved "mean?"
2. How would you describe "grace?"
3. Hebrews 11:1 says "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." How do you say that in your own words?
4. The apostle Paul he's clearly trying to make a point here about something you work for and something that is a gift. Why do you think he wants to make this strong distinction?
5. Do you think that legalism/performance, the impulse to perform in order to receive/merit something, is a default attitude for people? Why or why not?
6. How does this discussion inform or frame your relationship to God?
