For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: And the government shall be upon his shoulder: And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6 KJV

Shalom is the optimal conditions for human flourishing.

It is how things were created to be.

Harmony with God
Harmony with self
Harmony with others
Harmony with creation

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, Good will toward men.

Luke 2:13-14

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John 3:16

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

Matthew 5:9

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

You don’t get peace by pursuing peace. You get peace when you surrender to the Prince of Peace.
