Social Media

Strategy

When people look at our social media, we have the ability to give them a window where they would otherwise see a wall. A growing portion of our audience will never step foot into a physical location, so we see social media as a way to translate our church culture online as well as connecting people to the gospel on a daily basis. Whether we are telling stories, posting sermon clips, or promoting an initiative, everything that we put out should inspire and/or connect people to loving Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and sharing Jesus.

You can also spread the good news of Jesus across digital platforms!

Every like, comment and share helps to spread the Gospel!

Facebook

Think of Pages as front doors.

  • Content is geared toward a seeker that may have never stepped on-site. Inspiration, stories, gospel.

  • Pages are managed by the Communication Team or the location’s Campus Pastor/staff.

Think of Groups as living rooms. There are groups for ministries when it is appropriate, as well as a group for each location.

Instagram

The Westside Family Church Instagram Page is geared toward a seeker that may have never stepped on-site. Inspiration, stories, gospel.

Occasionally, Ministry Instagram pages are appropriate—opened by the Communication Team and managed by members of the Ministry Team.

YouTube

YouTube is where messages, Generosity Stories, podcast videos, and other video content can be watched.

Twitter + LinkedIn

Used primarily to share message quotes and big ideas that point people to loving Jesus, becoming like Jesus, and sharing Jesus.

Audio Podcast

Listen to Sunday message audio or the Westside Podcast. One account for WFC.

Account Management

  • All new social media accounts must be approved and opened by the Communications Director after research and strategy have been approved by the Ministry Director.

  • Ministry Groups are managed by the ministry. The Communications Director should be an admin on all official WFC groups.

  • WFC-related social media pages/groups/accounts must have a Staff member as an administrator. The staff member will be directly responsible for the messages on that page/s. That staff person must do the posting or personally approve everything that is posted.

  • If questionable content arises, that staff person is responsible for addressing it, removing it, altering it, etc. You may also be held accountable for content even if you are only a “member” and not the staff member administrator. This expectation will include Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and all future media outlets. This does not apply to “Secret” groups. It DOES apply to “Public” groups, “Closed” groups, and all Pages. It may also include any WFC-related page you are a part of.
