Walk for Unity 2025: Building Racial Harmony in Kansas City
Walk for Unity 2025 is more than just a walk—it’s a step toward racial reconciliation and stronger community connections in Kansas City. Each year, hundreds gather to participate in this powerful event that fosters unity, understanding, and healing across racial lines.
The event kicks off with a one-mile walk starting at the football field on the corner of Troost and Truman, ending at the Urban Youth Academy. After the walk, enjoy a community celebration featuring live music, local vendors, food, games, and plenty of space to continue connecting with others who share a vision for a united city.

Celebrate Growth & New Beginnings at Promotion Sunday
Promotion Sunday is an exciting milestone at Westside Family Church, marking the moment when kids and students advance to the next grade level. Whether your child is moving up in Kids Ministry or stepping into Student Ministry, we’re thrilled to walk alongside your family during this important season of growth. Our goal is to partner with parents to help children feel confident, connected, and celebrated as they enter their new age group and continue their journey of faith.
Be sure to check your child’s nametag for their new room assignment! Those kiddos who will be 1st graders in August 2025 will transition upstairs, and those who will be 6th graders in August 2025 will transition to our Student Ministry.

Tuesdays, Sept. 9-Nov. 11 | 6-7:45p | WFC Lenexa Community Room
What is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of conversations about things we all question in life: Why do bad things happen to good people? What's the purpose of life? What's next?
If you're looking for a judgment-free space to ask hard questions and share your own opinion, there's a place for you.
Connection
Connecting with others is what we were made for. All sessions start with a time to connect and build friendships, eliminating awkwardness and creating space for important conversations.Content
Alpha’s content explores the big questions we all ask, and guests from any background can unpack the basics of Christian faith. Bring your questions, you’ll find you’re not alone.Conversation
Those who attend Alpha share that their small group discussions are hands-down the best part of the experience. No questions are off limits and there’s nothing you can’t say (really).
