LifeStudy • Luke in the Land
Thursdays, January 9-February 20 | 9:30-11:15am | WFC Lenexa Room 219

Follow Kristi McLelland through Israel as we study snapshots from the Gospel of Luke to see where the stories of the Bible took place. Over 7 sessions, challenge how you read the accounts of Jesus through teaching videos that take you to locations in Israel like Bethlehem, the Sea of Galilee, Gethsemane, Jerusalem, and the road to Emmaus. Along the way, you'll see how Jesus, the Messiah, brought His kingdom to earth for everybody.

Special Needs Respite Night is a dedicated evening of fun designed for our special friends, ages birth to young adulthood. During our time together, we curate a delightful experience filled with interactive crafts, enjoyable games, heartwarming songs, and a wholesome dinner. This invaluable ministry offers parents the gift of time, allowing them to enjoy a date night or create memorable moments with their other children at home.

To love Jesus for who he is is to have him at the center of your life. In this seven week worship experience we will seek to have our false ideas about God and about ourselves healed. Through teaching, scripture, reading, and music we will discover how the healthiest thing we can do is to worship him for who he is Monday through Saturday, as well as on Sunday!

 From our partnerships in inner-city Kansas City to our A2 Groups serving in our neighborhoods, Westside is making a real difference in people’s lives. Westsiders fight human trafficking, tutor at-risk students, support foster and adoptive families, and help families out of homelessness, all to spread Jesus’ Love in our city every day.

We love that our kids ask questions; it means they are growing in stature, awareness, and knowledge. Sometimes, they ask questions we know the answers to, and sometimes, we might know the answer but find it hard to answer in a way they will understand. In Westside Kids Ministry, we get asked a lot of questions, and we love to take time to answer their questions thoroughly. Sometimes, we need more time to converse and discuss the questions. This November, we would like to invite kids (1st-5th grade) and their parents to a salvation/baptism/communion class.

This will be a two-week course (1st-week salvation/baptism and 2nd-week communion) to discuss salvation, baptism, and why we take communion. You and your child will learn the meaning of salvation, baptism, and communion, why each is important, and do so in a fun, family-friendly environment. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and, hopefully, many answers to the questions of salvation, baptism, and communion.

We love that our kids ask questions; it means they are growing in stature, awareness, and knowledge. Sometimes, they ask questions we know the answers to, and sometimes, we might know the answer but find it hard to answer in a way they will understand. In Westside Kids Ministry, we get asked a lot of questions, and we love to take time to answer their questions thoroughly. Sometimes, we need more time to converse and discuss the questions. After arriving in Cancun, our team will head to the town of Valladolid where we will partner with a local organization and serve alongside our partners in children’s ministry and community projects. The issues at the US-Mexico border are complicated, multi-layered, and complex. As we try to raise awareness and fill in the gaps of the immigration story not seen in the media, we invite you to join us for a 3-day Border Encounter. This experience will give you the opportunity to hear from a wide variety of perspectives from US Border Patrol, immigration legal services, migrant shelters, local nonprofits serving in both relief and development capacities, and people seeking asylum in the U.S. This team will be led by Michelle Simbaqueva + Matt Adams.

Motherhood is rewarding, challenging, fun, exhausting, a privilege, a mission field, and most of all, a team sport!
 
 We are better moms when we gather to support, encourage, console, and celebrate each other. Moms Together provides an environment where growth in motherhood and spiritual development unite, creating an opportunity to flourish in any season of motherhood. Whether you are an expectant mother, a mommy to tots, a seasoned mom, or a grandmother, there is a place for you in Moms Together.
 
 We offer two meeting times so you can find the time and location that best fits your schedule. Our Speedway location meets on Monday mornings, and the Lenexa campus meets on Wednesday mornings.
 
 Join us to find community, gain support, and grow deeper in your journey with Jesus.

Journey with us to South Africa as we visit our six One Life sites in the beautiful hills of the Xhosa homelands and the busy townships and squatter communities in the urban core. We will serve together, sharing hope and the love of Jesus with our One Life children at camps and an inter-village soccer tournament. Join us and experience the beat of God's heart as it reaches out to a country that is desperate for the love of Jesus.

Pack your bags, grab your family and join us on mission in Central America. Guatemala offers a great opportunity to serve together. We are partnering with local churches in Monjas. Westside families will serve alongside Guatemalan families as they reach into their communities with children’s programs, working with foster families, and engaging in community-wide activities to unite the local Monjas churches.

Journey with us to Northern Thailand where we will spend time at our One Life sites in the beautiful mountains. Our team will serve alongside our One Life staff at a kid's camp and engage in community outreach at a remote Westside church plant in the Khun Nan National Park where we will spend time with the hill tribe children in jungle villages. This trip will be led by Paul Chang.
