One Life Thailand Sites | Global Impact

Phakam, Huailua and Khunnam Villages

Phakam, Huailua, and Khunnam are three remote hill tribes located deep in the mountain jungle between Laos and Thailand. About 60 children in the three villages are sponsored through One Life. While none of the children are orphaned, they are extremely vulnerable. These villages have no access to running water or medical care and their local, poorly resourced, 2-room schools only go to the 6th grade. In these tribal communities the women lead their families, make all the important decisions and do much of the heavy labor in the fields. The men stay home and care for the children, keep the house and cook the meals. The hill tribe people worship demonic spirits and the darkness that surrounds these villages is deep and significantly impacts the health and wellbeing of these beautiful people. Toi and Amika are our remote village site directors.

Love Your Neighbor

This One Life site is located in the town of Mae Charim in Northern Thailand. LYN has 40 sponsored children who are from surrounding hill tribe families.  These children are vulnerable to neglect, physical and sexual abuse and trafficking. They all attend a local public school and receive the love of Jesus from home director and pastor, Atirat and his wife Nuch, who teaches at the local school.

Grace House

Grace House has been a part of One Life for the past ten years. They currently have around 40 sponsored children. These kids are from remote hill tribes surrounding the City of Pua, where Grace House is located. The Grace children attend local public schools and skills training facilities. The campus hosts our annual One Life children’s camp every year and has several sustainable development projects which provide Grace House with food and also provide skills training for our sponsored children. Grace House is managed by our Northern Thailand director Pastor Saman and his wife Nok.

Pua Life Project

We have around 30 sponsored children participating in the Pua Life Project. This ministry was started through Westside’s sister church Pua Baptist, to support kids who can live at home but need additional resources to enable them to attend school, get adequate nutrition, basic medical care and spiritual nurturing. These children come from homes with single parents, alcoholism and extreme poverty.  Pastor Dao manages the program.

Akha Village

Akha Village is a squatter community located on the outskirts of Chiang Rai. It is home to refugees from neighboring Myanmar. These people fled to escape civil war and ethnic cleansing. Unemployment is high because they left their homes without any personal possessions, and with no birth certificates, they cannot work. Our sponsored children attend school, receive nutrition and basic medical care and learn about Jesus. Pastor Ed and his wife Fang manage this site.

New Hope Home

New Hope Home has been a part of One Life since we first started the program ten years ago. Pastor Ed and his wife Fang manage New Hope Home. They have raised and cared for many HIV+ girls over the years. The girls they’ve cared for were all abandoned early in their lives and New Hope has provided them with love, stability, hope and a solid future. New Hope also works hand in hand with a sister ministry called Light Station that rescues and restores young women from the human trafficking industry.
