Blood Drive | COVID-19

On Wednesday, March 25, 2020, Westside Family Church hosted blood drive benefitting the American Red Cross.  The Red Cross is facing a severe shortage of blood donations due to an unprecedented cancelation of blood drives due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Westside’s spacious lobby makes it an ideal and safe option for a blood drive because the Red Cross is able to provide the necessary social distancing between donors.

According to the Red Cross, the drive successfully collected 47 pints of blood, and recruited 25 first-time donors.  The donations will go a long way to help ensure hospital patients have the life-saving blood they need.

“While we may not be able to gather church family within the building right now, we are pleased to be able to offer our facility as a safe alternative for such a critically important effort,” said Pastor Matt Adams who is leading Westside’s Coronavirus care initiatives.

The church is scheduled to host another drive in April – scheduled for the 23rd.  The Red Cross is seeking healthy individuals to participate.  If you are interested, you can schedule an appointment to donate blood by registering HERE.
