A learning community is a group of leaders who are journeying together towards transformational change. This particular learning community is focused on the development of missional rhythms that lead towards the transformation of both people and places. The BLESS Learning Community is all about raising up everyday missionaries where they live, work, study and play.

Over a 14-week period we will examine several key missional foundations; including the missionary nature of the church, incarnational and missional practices, and participation in the missio Dei. We will also discuss missionary principles around the topics of neighboring, hospitality and engaging “third places.” The acrostic BLESS will provide the overarching framework for the learning journey.

B – Begin in prayer
L – Listen and Engage
E – Eat
S – Serve
S – Story

The Learning Community will involve two integrated elements.

  1. Each member of the cohort will be connected to an online portal where the content for BLESS LC is hosted. Each week, new modules that explore the rhythms and practices of BLESS are unlocked. The content takes about a half hour each week to engage.
  2. Every other week for 14 weeks, the cohort will meet in person for a one-hour training. This is a 360 learning environment where everyone leads and everyone follows. In this environment, no new content is delivered. Rather, the content from the online portal is debrief, discussed and assimilated.

We've found that this reverse classroom experience is a powerful way to help people integrate the BLESS rhythms and become everyday missionaries to their neighborhoods and networks of relationships.
